Summer Dreams

With all that we have been through the last couple months, we can’t help but wonder what else is coming down the road. Many of us have stopped talking about “getting back to normal” , and instead started wondering what the new “normal” will look like.  I think the experience of the last few weeks have made some permanent changes to the way we will be doing things in the future.
Just looking ahead to this coming summer, it may be a lot different than the summers we have enjoyed all our lives.  The normal outdoor activities, and traditional public events, may not take place this year. Being a “car guy “ , I can’t help but wonder about summer car shows, and other enthusiasts activities, that we have loved all our lives.   What will our new normal look like?
But, we can still dream of what could be, and remember all those special summer activities of the past, and see what we can do to make our new normal the best it can be.

National Mustang Day

On April 17th. 56 years ago, the Ford Mustang was introduced to the world. From that day forward, the Mustang was an automotive game changer, and started setting sales records for the first couple years of production that have never been equaled to this day.
I have been a Mustang fan from the first time I saw one as a teenager, and have owned many in the years since. My mom came home with a shiny new 66 V8 Mustang coupe, and I was lucky enough to get to drive it once in awhile. That made a lasting impression on a young South Dakota farm kid that still affects me to this day.
On April 17th, five years ago, we took delivery of our new 2015 Mustang GT, on the 50th anniversary of the Mustang introduction.  As with all the Mustangs I’ve ever owned, it brings a smile every time I drive it.
